Fr. Tony Agius
|
Fr. Tony Agius has been associated
with choirs since his teenage years when he was asked by Fr. Karm Calleja
to be one of the founder members of the St. Julian’s Choir. During
the Seminary years he regularly took part in the Seminary Choir under the
direction of Mro. Fr. Albert Borg. His love for music was further
enhanced in studying the classic guitar under Mro. Simiana. His experience
at Stella Maris Parish Church, where he had organised a group of 75 altar
boys providing service and singing during Sunday Mass and feasts, prompted
him to delegate his sister, Elvia, to organise a children's’ choir when
he was appointed Parish Priest at the St. Julian’s Parish eighteen years
ago. Since then he supported the Cantores Sancti Juliani
in the different stages of its development and apart from becoming the
group’s Spiritual Director, a role which he maintained ever since, he accompanies
the choir on various occasions.
